Holy snowfall!
The weatherman wasn’t kidding around with this winter storm. What started out as a sprinkle of snow  yesterday evening, turned out to be around 8 inches of fresh powder this morning. Whew bessie, that’s a lot of snow!
Since the roads were terrible and I was scheduled to leave early from work, I decided to stay home. Mr. B’s office ending up closing for the day as well. Hooray for a snow day!
First thing to do on a snow day, eat a delicious breakfast.
Oat smoothie topped with chunks of cranberry orange scone and a drizzle of honey.

Washed down with a piping hot cup of joe.

Even though I wanted to play in the snow and dive into the giggle juice, there was work to be done. I was able to tie up a lot of loose ends, and now I can officially relax over the break.

Once I finished up with work, I walked to the bank. I could not believe the amount of snow accumulated in less than 10 hours (too bad were not skiing this weekend)! Downtown was strangely quiet. The only thing I could hear was the snow crunching under my feet.

After I arrived back home, Mr. B and I finished packing our duffel bags. I managed to fit eight days worth of clothing into a single bag! I gave myself a giant HIGH FIVE!

Since our flight wasn’t until 8pm, we were able to watch the K-State men’s basketball game. They were in Hawaii for the Hawaiian Airline Diamond Head Classic Tournament. The game was pretty blah. K-State beat Southern Illinois by over thirty points
While we were watching the game I decided to make an early dinner.  Since we are going to be gone for almost two weeks, I played “what you got” with our fridge. Hmmm….bread, check. Tomatoes, check. Bacon, check, CHECK. You can see where I’m headed with this. Oh hello, BLT!

For not having much in the fridge, I will toot my own horn for coming up with this guy! I also ate the last Christmas tree sugar cookie. Tear.

We finished prepping the house, and then we were off to the airport!
Since there was a huge snow storm last night, I thought the airport would be effing bonkers. It was so quiet that you could hear a pin drop. I’m not complaining, but it was freakishly weird. Our flight was delayed by twenty minutes so Mr. B and I decided to grab a quick drink while we waited for our plane.
Best. Decision. Ever.
This Fat Tire tasted like heaven in a glass. The best part, it made the time pass quickly. Mission accomplished.
And then it was time to board.
We arrived safely into Wichita, but had to wait on our bags for 45 minutes! I don’t understand because it’s a small airport. What are they doing back there?
Anyways, we made it safely and that’s all that matters. Now the fun the begins!
Nite!
