How was your hump day?
Exciting? Boring? Stressful? All the above?
Mine was pretty average. Nothing really to write home about.
Last night Mr. B didn’t get home until almost 11pm from his mountain bike ride. (Um, earth to Mr. B it’s getting dark earlier! The boogie man is in full force after 8pm now.) You can imagine how I felt when I arrived home from boot camp around 9pm to a pitch black apartment.
Hmmm. That’s weird. Where could he be?
(I even left him a sweet note letting him know his dinner was in the fridge. Rats. I’ll have to save that for another day.)
I tried not to overreact. Really I did. But when ten o’clock rolled around and no word from the hubby, I started freaking out. What if a giant grizzly bear ate him? What if he was clawed by a furious mountain lion?!
My thoughts kept going, and going, and going….
Of course, as soon as my mind started to think the absolute worst he called. “Babe, we’re fine. We just had to walk a mile back to the car because we couldn’t see the trail. Be home in twenty-minutes.”
This morning I woke up sore, tired, and hungry. Jennifer really kicked our butt’s last night. Sitting down was a little tricky today.
At least breakfast was quick and easy.
Strawberry smoothie, yes please!
It actually reminded me of the strawberry banana drink we served at Orange Julius back in the day. Have I ever mentioned that was my part time job in high school? Yep, I was an Orange Julius girl.
Now that I think about it, that was a long f’ing time ago! Geesh.
I swear work today seemed to drag on. Probably due to the fact that we leave tomorrow and once again I feel like I have a zillion things to do.
My outfit today was ridiculous. I am at the bottom of the barrel of clothing choices because everything is at the dry cleaners.
Meet middle management:
Don’t you think I look like a Best Buy employee? Would you buy a T.V. from me? I could cut you a sweet deal and throw in some 3D glasses for free.
Ridiculous, I tell ya. Please send help.
After work I ran a few errands and then headed home for a quick run. My legs were not happy. All of those squats and lunges really put a hurtin’ on my hamstrings. But the show must go on!
The first mile and a half felt like I was dragging cement blocks. Not cool. I never got into a groove, which didn’t surprise me. I just took my time and made sure I didn’t push it to hard. Ah, the joy’s of running.
Needless to say, I powered through and finished. First thing I did when I got back from my run, roll out that lactic acid.
It was painful, but I am hoping it helps because I have to run 10 miles on Friday! AHHHH!
Once I was done rolling, I did some laundry and then started on dinner.
Spaghetti and Meatballs. Yummo!
Pasta dinners are the best when you’re short on time.
This dinner only took me 15 minutes to make. Booyah!
Tomorrow is going to be crazy, but I am really looking forward to seeing everyone in Wichita!
